Barbara Wright grew up in North Carolina, and has lived all over the world, from France, to Korea, to El Salvador. She has worked as a fact-checker for Esquire and as a screenwriter. With her screen-writing partner, she wrote a script for Oliver Stone based on the true story of Castro's mistress, who was hired by the CIA to assassinate him. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, Frank Gay. In her spare time she plays tennis and jazz piano.
